    Four Popular European Cruise Destinations
Taking a European cruise gives you a chance to experience everything Europe has to offer. With such a choice of European cruises to choose from I have chosen just four to have a look at here.

    Greek Islands

A cruise around the Greek Islands provides a great combination of historical sites and idyllic islands. A typical trip will not only take in the islands of Corfu, Mykonos, Crete and Rhodes but many holidaymakers will also take the chance to see the historical city of Athens and in some cases witness where east meets west in the Turkish capital Istanbul. This is an very popular cruising area especially in the hotsummer months.

    Spain

Not only does Spain offer hot weather, but stunning sites and scenery, historical buildings and local food. Some of the most popular cities are . Valencia, Barcelona and Cadiz. In addition to the mainland Spain includes the Balearic Islands on the largest of which, Majorca, is the vibrant city of Palma.

    Norway

Forsomething a bit different, why not consider a Norwegian cruise. Whilst this type of cruise doesn’t offer the same hot weather as the Mediterranean type of cruise, it does provide an opportunity to witness some of the most stunning scenery in the world. Fjords cut into the Norwegian coastline like knives and are bordered by hillsides interspersed with stunning waterfalls providing everlasting views. As well as the scenery, take a Norwegian cruise in autumn and winter and you will have a chance to witness the enthralling northern lights and the array of colour they bring to the night time sky.

    The Rhine Gorge

The Rhine Gorge stretches 65km from Koblenz to Mainz-Bingen in Germany. Along this part of the River Rhine the edge of the river gives way to some of Europe’s most stunning scenery. You will see rolling hills of vineyards and fairy tale castles amonst the trees around each river bend. At the southern end of the Rhine Gorge is one of it’s most stunning sights. The Lorelei (Loreley) Rock is an impressive slate rock rising out of the water to a height of 132m.

European Cruises - What makes them so popular?
If you’re thinking of visiting Europe next year then why not take a European cruise. European cruises are very popular and come in all forms including ones around the Mediterranean and Baltic seas, or ones along some of Europe’s most stunning rivers including the Danube and Rhine.

Cruising around the Mediterranean will give you a chance to call in on some of the most famous places in the world including the thriving city of Barcelona, the glamour of the French Riviera, the principality of Monaco and witness the fascinating city of Rome, all of this without having to even pack and unpack your suitcase. At the east part of the Mediterranean, a cruise around the Greek islands offers one of the most relaxing holidays you could ever imagine and coupling this with visits to the vibrant cities of Athens and Istanbul definitely offers a holiday of different extremes

If you after a slightly different type of cruise in Europe then a journey down one of its numerous rivers may be something to consider. A journeydown the Rhine provides an opportunity to view some of Europe’s most stunning scenery of vineyards and fairytale castles, whereas the Danube and Seine give a chance to visit some of Europe’s most famous cities such as Vienna, Budapest and Paris.

Cruising is not just about seeing wonderful places its also about returning to your boat at night to further enjoy the fantastic food provided. Normally the boats will offer a number of alternative restaurants to choose from giving the chance to vary the types and style of food you eat. After your meal you can settle down to be thouroughly into the early hours or simply while away the hours on deck whilst looking peacefully into the night sky

Whatever you are looking from a holiday, whether its hustle and bustle, simple relaxation or the opportunity to visit different places, there is certainly a European cruise out there to suit you.
